India To Not Travel To Pakistan For Champions Trophy 2025? BCCI Provides Big Update

Reiterating a long-held position, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla on Monday said a decision on whether the national cricket team will travel to Pakistan for next year's ICC Champions Trophy will depend on government approval. "Complete Disregard For...": PT Usha Hits Out At IOA Executive Committee For Not Felicitating Paris Olympics Medalists

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha on Monday said it is "deeply concerning" that the Executive Committee members failed to honour Olympic medallists and accused the Finance Committee of blocking funds intended to support Indian athletes' preparation for the Paris Games. India secured six medals, including two historic bronze by young shooter Manu Bhaker, but Usha said the "EC does not want to celebrate their success" and it makes her "very sad." "These athletes have made the nation proud, and it is the responsibility of the IOA to celebrate their achievements with the respect they deserve. It is deeply concerning that, even after returning home in mid-August, the EC has failed to discuss or take any steps towards organizing a formal felicitation ceremony," she said in a statement.

PT Usha Breaks Silence On Accusations Of Running Indian Olympic Association In 'Autocratic' Manner

Accused of running the Indian Olympic Association in an "autocratic" manner, its president PT Usha on Sunday hit back at the revolting executive council members, saying they "seem more focused on self-serving power play and monetary gain" than working for the betterment of the country's sport. In an official press release, Usha also alleged that "some of these EC members have very questionable track records, including allegations of gender bias and even cases of sexual harassment filed against them". "In my 45-year-long career as a sportsperson representing India ... I have never encountered individuals so indifferent to the aspirations of our athletes and our nation's sporting future ... these individuals seem more focused on self-serving power play and monetary gain through their prolonged presence and control in sports administration," Usha said.

India Win Two Shooting Golds In ISSF Junior World Championship

Indian shooters began their ISSF Junior World Championship (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun) campaign in Peru on a good note, winning team gold in men's and women's 10m air pistol events, though a potential top-podium finish was lost in the individual category after a marksman was docked two points for reporting late for the final. The junior men's trio of Umesh Choudhary, Pradhyumn Singh and Mukesh Nelavalli topped the men's team competition in 10m air pistol with a tally of 1726 points. PCB Issues Stern Warning For Pakistan Cricketers, Says 'Improve Fitness Or..."

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a stern warning to 6-7 centrally contracted players, urging them to improve their fitness or risk losing their contracts. The Pakistan team fitness trainer and physiotherapist will conduct another round of fitness tests on Monday in Lahore after some players didn't meet the required benchmarks in the tests held earlier this month. “The players who have central and domestic contracts have been told in clear terms that there will be no compromise on fitness and they have to meet the benchmarks set by the team's fitness experts,” a board official said.
