The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will make its much-awaited return to the mat on Friday, October 18. The Battle of Breath will kickstart with a thrilling opener where the Telugu Titans and the Bengaluru Bulls square off at the GMCB Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli in Hyderabad. In anticipation of the new season, a grand launch was held at the Hyatt Place, at Banjara Hills, in Hyderabad. The event was graced by PKL League Commissioner & Head of Sports Leagues at Mashal Sports, Mr. Anupam Goswami, along with team captains Pawan Sehrawat (Telugu Titans) and Pardeep Narwal (Bengaluru Bulls).

Rachin Ravindra became the first New Zealand batter since 2012 to score a Test century on Indian soil during the first Test against India at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. Though New Zealand lost four wickets in the morning session, Ravindra, whose family hails from Bengaluru, got up the tempo through a breezy century filled with eye-catchy 11 fours and two sixes. The 21-year-old's century was his second in Test cricket, having scored his maiden hundred against South Africa earlier this year.

In a major boost for the Indian team, star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is likely to bat in the second innings of the ongoing 1st Test against New Zealand. Amid concerns over his fitness, Pant was seen taking throwdowns during Tea break on Day 3, and was also padded up in the dressing room. Pant was carried off the field on Day 2 due to a knee injury. He did not take the field on Day 3 as Dhruv Jurel returned to keep the gloves during New Zealand.
