India's decision to not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 has further intensified the tensions between the two countries. The two teams have not played a bilateral series in more than a decade due to the political tensions and although Pakistan did travel to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup, the Indian government did not take the same decision. Earlier, India proposed a 'hybrid' plan where the national side played all their matches in Dubai but it was ultimately rejected by Pakistan.

Pakistan, on Sunday, achieved a historic high as the team defeated Australia in an ODI series. This was Pakistan's first ODI series win in Australia after 22 years. In the series decider at Perth, Pakistan shot out Australia for 140, before hunting down the total with eight wickets in hand to win the series 2-1. Pakistan coach Jason Gillespie was happy with the team's show but also said the ODI Series was not promoted in Australia at all.

Reports suggest that none other than legendary India and CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was left impressed by Mhatre. The fifth round of the Ranji Trophy ends on November 16, giving CSK eight days to evaluate Mhatre if he comes for the trial.

Former Indian cricket team batter Sanjay Manjrekar believes that all-rounder Axar Patel was 'underutilised' in the first two T20I encounters against South Africa. Following India's loss in the second game of the four-match series on Sunday, Manjrekar said that although India are playing Axar as the third spinner with Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi, the team management has failed to use him properly. While the track did provide some help to the spinners, Axar bowled just one over in the match. Manjrekar was not pleased with the decision and called it an "obvious mistake" by captain Suryakumar Yadav.

Virat Kohli landed in Australia on Sunday night, 12 days before the start of the first Test in Perth on November 22. Kohli, therefore, became the first of a large group of Team India players set to arrive in Australia. The rest of the Indian team will arrive in two batches, with the first one consisting the likes of Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, Akash Deep and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. Team India are set to practise at the WACA Ground in Perth, ahead of the first Test.
