The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction promises plenty of surprises and record-breaking moments, with an unprecedented number of Indian and overseas superstars in contention. All ten franchises are gearing up to build their squads from scratch. A total of 574 players have been shortlisted from an initial pool of 1,574 names. These players will go under the hammer from November 24-25 in Jeddah. The list includes 208 overseas players, 12 uncapped overseas talents, and 318 uncapped Indian players, according to Wisden.

Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers has picked his dream T20 team, comprising of four Indian players including star duo of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. The former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter also picked three Indians - MS Dhoni, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Mayank Yadav - as his backups. At the top of the order, de Villiers paired Kohli with Australia's Travis Head. Rishabh Pant and Cameron Green were his other picks in the top-order.

The India-Australia men's doubles tennis duo of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden, the Australia Open champions this year, announced that they would go separate ways after two great years as a team. The pair first teamed up in January 2023 and now end their association with a victory over Germany's Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz in their final group match of the ATP Finals 2024 on Friday. However, it was not enough for them to reach the semifinals.

Star India pacer Mohammed Shami has made a sensational comeback to competitive cricket. The right-arm pacer, who missed the action for around a year due to injury, played for Bengal in their recently-concluded Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh. India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav had an unexpected encounter with a Pakistani fan in South Africa. In a viral video, the fan asked Suryakumar about India's reported refusal to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next year. "Mujhe ek baat batayein, Pakistan kyu nahi aa rahe aap?" the fan was heard as saying in the video. Responding to the fan's query, Suryakumar respectfully told the fan that the decision is not in the hand of the players.
