Mbappe set on PSG departure Kylian Mbappe still plans on leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, reports Spanish newspaper Marca. The French international forward is out of contract at the end of the season and while he may even take a pay cut to move to Real Madrid, his heart is on winning trophies, so unless PSG overhaul their strategy, the 23-year-old striker will move on.
Lewis Hamilton has reacted to media criticism of his driving by insisting he had done a “damn good job” in Miami Grand Prix qualifying.
Although the 2022 draft remains the primary focus for NBA teams — at least for the 22 teams no longer pursuing a championship this season — evaluations are also being made and intel is being gathered for a 2023 draft that projects as potentially historic.
Novak Djokovic eased past Hubert Hurkacz with a routine 6-3, 6-4 victory on Friday to advance to the Madrid Open semi-finals, as he bids for a fourth title in the Spanish capital. Djokovic looked much more like his usual self at the Manolo Santana Stadium on a sunny day in Madrid as he continued to work his way back towards top form ahead of the French Open, which begins later this month. The 34-year-old was given a walkover into the quarter-finals when opponent Andy Murray withdrew from their highly anticipated clash due to illness and the top-seeded Serb got straight down to business against Hurkacz.
Barcelona made sure of Champions League football again next season after Jordi Alba struck a fine volley deep into stoppage time to secure a 2-1 win at Real Betis.
FC Nantes secured their fourth Coupe de France crown and their first major trophy since 2001 as Antoine Kombouare’s side edged out OGC Nice 1-0 at the Stade de France in Paris to celebrate a long-awaited triumph. The first half was cagey for both sides, with few clear-cut chances of note being created as the enormity of the occasion may have affected the players on the pitch. Ad/> However, just 15 seconds into the second half, there was drama as Nantes were awarded a penalty.
Norbert Michelisz earned the partially reversed-grid pole position for Race 2 at WTCR Clean Fuels for All Race of France, despite requiring the left-front corner of his car to be heavily taped up just to finish the Q2 session on the streets of Circuit de Pau-Ville. The Hungarian nosed his Goodyear-equipped BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse Elantra N TCR into the tyre wall at Turn 2 once Q2 had resumed following Thed Björk’s big accident that required lengthy barrier repairs. Michelisz pitted, whereupon the BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse set to work with black tape, before sending him back out for the end of the session.
