BEIJING : The mixed doubles curling competition kicked off the 2022 Winter Olympics on Wednesday with Sweden's Almida de Val throwing the first rock of the preliminary round at the National Aquatics Centre.
The opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics is not until Friday but the action is already underway on Wednesday and there is a huge amount to look forward to over the coming days.
Since women's hockey was included at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan, Canada and the U.S. have competed in five of the last six finals, collectively winning all the gold medals — four for Canada, two for the Americans.
