PCB To Pay Additional USD 100,000 To Six High Profile Foreign Players In PSL

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will pay an additional sum of USD 100,000 to six high-profile foreign players in PSL franchisees for making themselves available for the League. The PCB agreed to shell out the money from a special fund which has now grown to USD one million. During the PSL draft, the PCB had set a maximum base price salary of USD 200,000 to franchises for each overseas player. "David Warner for example came onboard for a fee of USD 300,000 and 100,000 of this will be paid to him by the PCB from the special fund," an official with the PSL, said.

"Will Bowl 150-160 kmph": Pakistani Pacer Quits Over PSL Snub, Then Makes U-Turn

The drafts for the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) were made on Monday in Lahore with many big names getting picked by the franchises. After going unsold in the Indian Premier League 2025 auction, the likes of David Warner and Kane Williamson were also roped in for Pakistan's T20 league. However, a big shock came after sensational Pakistan pacer Ihsanullah was not picked by any team in the PSL draft. Resulting this, the right-arm pacer announced his retirement from the PSL.

Novak Djokovic Left Gobsmacked By Marcus Stoinis' Bizarre Dismissal In BBL. Video Viral

Serbia icon and tennis sensation Novak Djokovic had a priceless reaction during the BBL clash between Stars and Renegades in the Melbourne derby. Glenn Maxwell produced a memorable 90 off 52 balls to steer the Stars to victory. But it was Djokovic's reaction to captain Marcus Stoinis' dismissal that stole the show in the first innings. Djokovic, who is in Melbourne these days hoping to extend his record 10 Australian Open triumphs, was present during the BBL clash on Sunday at the Marvel Stadium. On the third ball of the eighth over, Stoinis launched the ball high in the air while trying to clear the boundary rope. The timing was a bit off as the ball eventually landed in the hands of Kane Williamson at long-on.

Penalty King Harry Kane Sends Bayern Munich Past Moenchengladbach

A second-half penalty from Harry Kane gave Bayern Munich a 1-0 win at Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday, restoring their four-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table. Defending champions Bayer Leverkusen's 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund on Friday drew them within a point of league leaders Bayern, who went into Saturday's clash without the ill Jamal Musiala. Musiala's replacement, veteran Thomas Mueller, had an early chance midway through the first half but blasted at Gladbach goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas from point-blank range.

Virat Kohli, Steve Smith Receives Big Praise From Ravi Shastri: "They'll Be Dangerous..."

Former Indian cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri shared his thoughts on the performances of cricket's legendary "Fab Four"—Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson. Shastri delved into the fluctuating fortunes of these players in the longest format of the game and emphasised the resilience and hunger that still make Kohli and Smith dangerous opponents. While Root and Williamson have enjoyed a phenomenal 2024, scoring six and four Test centuries respectively, Kohli and Smith have managed only one each—both coming during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Root's prolific run in particular has solidified his place as one of the most consistent batters in modern cricket, while Williamson continues to exude elegance and composure at the crease.

Video: Ball Hits The Roof Of Stadium In Big Bash League 2024, Injures Bowler's Hand

A rather interesting and rare incident took place at the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024 season, when a ball was hit straight onto the roof of a cricket ground. The Docklands Stadium in Melbourne is mainly used for Australian rules football, but is also the home ground of BBL franchise Melbourne Renegades, making it one of the few cricket stadiums that have a roof at the top of the stadium. This caused one of the rarest moments in cricket, as the ball went straight up and smacked against the roof before coming down.
