Smriti Mandhana shone both on and off the field in India's emphatic win over the West Indies in an ICC Women's World Cup 2022 match in Hamilton on Saturday. Mandhana, who top-scored for India with a sensational 123 off 119 balls, decided to share the 'Player of the Match' award with another centurion Harmanpreet Kaur in the post-match presentation. It was the brilliant 184-run stand between Mandhana and Harmanpreet that propelled India to a huge total of 317 for 8 batting first.
Smriti Mandhana (119, 123b, 13x4, 2x6) and Harmanpreet Kaur (109, 107b, 10x4, 2x6) crushed the West Indies by 155 runs in their Women’s ODI World Cup match, at the Seddon Park in Hamilton on Saturday. The strong bond between Mandhana and Harmanpreet, who made batting look effortless during their record 184-run stand in 182 balls for the fourth wicket — the highest partnership for India in a Women’s World Cup game — came to the fore when the champion left-hander, who was announced as the Player of the Match, in a beautiful, laudable gesture, told the commentators that she wanted to share her award with Harmanpreet. “Harman deserved the award equally. The ICC, I believe, has enough budget to give both of us separate trophies,” Mandhana said with a giggle.

Lewis Hamilton said Mercedes are not in a position to compete for wins, as pre-season testing ended in Bahrain.
Lewis Hamilton has given a downbeat assessment of his team’s chances as his run of pre-season testing drew to a close. Speaking after the morning session on the third and final day of testing in Bahrain, Hamilton was pessimistic ahead of next weekend’s season opener, saying his team is unlikely to compete for race wins. Sergio Perez topped the lap-time table at the end of the morning session on Day 3 of testing. The Red Bull driver finished the session with a quickest time of 1:33.105, 0.8 seconds quicker than Alfa Romeo’s Guanyu Zhou in second. Ad/> The morning session on the final day of testing concluded with a racing start between the four drivers remaining out on track.
