Former Australia pacer Glenn McGrath was all praise for India fast bowler Umran Malik, saying that sheer pace is unique and that cannot be taught to any bowler in the world. Umran impressed everyone with his pace during the Indian Premier League 2022, clocking over 150 kph regularly. He claimed that the southpaw was a "dangerous bowler" at the start but after working on his action and run-up, he became a "lethal bowler".

Glenn McGrath feels that playing a Test series in India, scheduled to be held next year, is going to be the ultimate challenge for Pat Cummins & Co. McGrath was also appreciative of Australia's recent performances in Test trips to Pakistan and Sri Lanka, saying that the side has started to understand sub-continental conditions. Australia will tour India as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tentatively in February-March 2023, with an aim to win the series in a country where they have never won after the 2-1 triumph in October-November 2004.
