New Zealand has announced the ODI squad for their upcoming series against Pakistan. The visitors will be without the services of a host of their regular stars, who are currently busy with their respective franchise commitments in the IPL. The Blackcaps will be without the likes of skipper Kane Williamson (who injured his knee), Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner and Finn Allen. In the absence of their star players, Tom Latham will step up to play the skipper's role. He will have experience in his side with some quality players. He will bank on the services of experienced players like Daryl Mitchell, Matt Henry, James Neesham, Henry Nicholls and Ish Sodhi.

Set to miss at least first leg of the IPL due to an Achilles (heel) problem, Royal Challengers Bangalore's Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood would reach India by April 14 but would take another week to be match-fit. While Hazlewood will miss at least seven IPL games, his Australian teammate Glenn Maxwell is doubtful for RCB's opening match against Mumbai Indians on April 2 in Bengaluru as he is yet to fully regain strength post leg fracture. "Everything is ticking along according to plan, so I'll be heading over on the 14th (of April) depending on how the next two weeks go," Hazlewood was quoted as saying by The Age.

Sunrisers Hyderabad would be banking on the leadership skills of their new skipper, South African Aiden Markram, and the cricketing acumen of coach Brian Lara to break the jinx of finishing in the lower rung over the last couple of editions, when the latest IPL season commences on March 31. Markram, who led Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the inaugural SA20 title, is the third captaincy change in three years for the Hyderabad franchise, and will have a big job at hand to guide the side to success after it finished last in 2021 and eighth among 10 teams last year.
Former India player Sanjay Manjrekar feels that Royal Challengers Bangalore have the best bowling attack in the Indian Premier League 2023. He also put his trust paticularly in the depth of RCB's pace bowling. The two-time IPL finalists will keep their hopes of a maiden trophy intact with some added strength in their squad after the 2023 auction. The side, which has made a good improvement in its pace attack of late, has bolstered it further by adding star England pacer Reece Topley.
Royal Challengers Bangalore might have lost their last two matches but they are still a happy bunch and all of that was on display as the squad attended Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell's post-wedding celebrations on Wednesday, April 27. RCB players were spotted donning traditional Indian attire. Virat Kohli was also seen having some fun time off the field, grooving alongside all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed to a song from the famous movie Pushpa. Maxwell and his partner Vini Raman got married on 18th March earlier this year.
