As the rescheduled fifth Test between India and England began on Friday, it also marked the latest chapter in the long-standing rivalry between Virat Kohli and James Anderson. Both are considered among the best in the world in their respective disciplines and when they come up against each other, it always leads to an enthralling battle. Veteran England pacer James Anderson backed Stuart Broad, who was on the receiving end of an unwanted record on Day 2 of the ongoing rescheduled fifth Test against India at Edgbaston on Saturday. Coming in to bat at no.10 Jasprit Bumrah made light of a bowler of Stuart Broad's calibre hitting him for four boundaries and two sixes in an over while six runs came of extras in the Edgbaston Test. In the 84th over of the match, captain Bumrah started off by hitting a boundary, hooking him into the gap for four. Next, he bowled a wayward delivery to concede five wides.
England pacer Stuart Broad on Saturday bowled the most expensive over in Test cricket as he gave away 35 runs in the ongoing match against India at Edgbaston, Birmingham. 29 runs came from the bat from the bat of India stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah while the rest were extras. As a result, Broad broke the record of South Africa spinner Robin Peterson as he ended up giving away 28 runs against West Indies in 2003.
Jasprit Bumrah is one of the finest fast bowlers of the modern era, but on Saturday he shocked everybody with some terrific batting against England in Edgbaston on Day of the fifth rescheduled Test. The victim of his assault was England pacer Stuart Broad, who ended up conceding 35 runs in an over - the most scored in an over in Test cricket. Bumrah kept punishing the short balls that came his way from Broad and scored 29 runs in the over. Ultimately, Bumrah ended on 31* with four fours and two sixes. India were all out for 416 in the first innings.
