Britain's Emma Raducanu defeated Magda Linette 6-2 6-2 to secure her spot in the semi-finals of the Korea Open on Friday, reaching the last-four of a tournament for the first time since her triumph at last year's U.S. Open.
The 19-year-old Briton powered her way to a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory in Seoul and will now face either top seed Jelena Ostapenko or 186th-ranked Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva. Raducanu stunned the tennis world when she emerged from qualifying to win the US Open last year, but she has struggled to build on that and her Grand Slam defence ended in the first round last month.
Emma Raducanu beat Yanina Wickmayer in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the Korean Open in Seoul. Sixth seed Raducanu won 6-3 7-5 after reeling off three games in a row to win the first set and was on course to take a relatively easy victory after breaking early in the second. Ad But Wickmayer fought back before Raducanu steadied to get over the line.
Raducanu, who crashed out of the US Open in the first round last month, overcame a sluggish start and a late wobble to win 6-3, 7-5 in Seoul. The 19-year-old Briton, the sixth seed, will face third seed Magda Linette of Poland next.
