"Shikhar Dhawan Is Still A Force...": Ex-India Star On How Star Batter's 'Graph Has Gone Up With Age'

Shikhar Dhawan is now being considered for only one format - the ODIs. Despite consistent performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL), he is no longer considered for the T20Is. Dhawan is six months shy of turning 37 but is still going strong on the cricket field. With the 2023 ODI World Cup next year at home, Dhawan would be eager to maintain his form and be picked in the squad. Former Indian cricket team player Sanjay Manjrekar feels that Dhawan has a lot to contribute to Indian cricket.

"Not The Same Bowler We Saw In Test Cricket 18 Months Back": Sanjay Manjrekar's Huge Remark On India Star

England on Tuesday made history as the side chased down 378 runs, their highest successful chase in Tests. It was Jasprit Bumrah-led India which was on the receiving end of England's historic feat at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The Ben Stokes-led side reached home in 76.4 overs with seven wickets in hand as the duo of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow stitched an unbeaten partnership of 269 runs to keep India at bay. The guests saw a glimmer of hope when England were 109/3 at one stage but unbeaten centuries from Root and Bairstow completely took an Indian victory out of equation.

Badminton Association of India to probe recent age-fraud complaints, ban guilty players for 2-3 years

Multiple cases of age-fudging emerged during the All India Sub-Junior under-13 ranking tournament (June 19 to 25) in Hyderabad and at the ongoing U-13 event in Mohali, prompting Sandeep Heble, a member of the Age Fraud Committee, to shoot off a letter to BAI, urging it look into the matter. "It is not an easy decision. We have to be 100 percent certain before we take any action. We already have an age fraud committee, but now we will form a team, including the state secretaries, so that a proper investigation can be done to gather evidence," BAI secretary Sanjay Mishra told PTI. "Once we have concrete evidence, we will make a detailed list of the guilty players and ban them for 2 to 3 years from all domestic events, including district, state, national ranking." Aggrieved parents have also approached the organising secretary Tejinder Bedi in Mohali, protesting against the participation of over-age players in the tournament and demanding immediate action. There were reports that Bedi had decided not to award ranking points in the Mohali tourney. However, BAI said cancellation of ranking points is federation's prerogative and it has decided to let the tournament go ahead as per plan but will conduct 2-3 events more to help the affected player make up for the points once the matter is probed properly.

Options in drag-flick hands India advantage over others in world hockey, says Sandeep Singh

The Birmingham Commonwealth Games-bound Indian team has as many as three specialist drag-flickers in Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar and Amit Rohidas. "Specialist Kind Of Cameo Batter": Sanjay Manjrekar Gives Big Compliment To This Team India Comeback Star

With the T20 World Cup in Australia only four months away, it is time for the national teams to zero in on their core for the marquee event. After the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the team management would be happy with the way some of the senior players have returned to form. Dinesh Karthik is one such player. The 37-year-old played really well in the finisher's role for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Then in the recently-concluded T20I series against South Africa, Karthik scored a half-century in the fourth T20I to help India level the series 2-2. Former Indian cricket team player Sanjay Manjrekar, in an exclusive interview to NDTV, said that the veteran Karthik is most likely to be picked for the 2022 T20 World Cup.

"Very Deserving Of Coming Close": Sanjay Manjrekar On Ranji Trophy Star's Chances Of Test Call-Up

Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan set this year's edition of the Ranji Trophy alight just like he had last year as he registered yet another 900-run season. The 24-year-old scored a fine century in the Ranji Trophy final, and despite Madhya Pradesh looking set to win the title, he has made a strong case for a call-up to the Indian Test squad. Former India and Mumbai batter Sanjay Manjrekar said that while his aggressive and sometimes unorthodox style of batting can raise questions about whether he will make it at the Test level, he has come close to a national call-up on the back of his brilliant performances in India's First Class competiton.

Watch: N Jagadeesan's Indecent Gesture As He Loses Cool After Getting Mankaded In TNPL

The 2022 season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League began on a dramatic note as the first match turned out to be a thriller decided in a Super Over. But there was drama galore otherwise too, with Baba Aparajith running N Jagadeesan out at the non-striker's end while running in to bowl and the opening batter responding with a one-fingered salute. In the fourth over of the Chepauk Super Gillies' chase against Nellai Royal Kings, Jagadeesan was caught backing up by Baba Aparajith, who went on to 'Mankad' him. As a frustrated Jagadeesan walked back to the dugout, he turned back in the direction of the bowlers and raised his middle-finger.
