Rahul Mankad, a former Mumbai cricketer and son of legendary cricketer Vinoo Mankad, passed away on Wednesday after a brief ailment at the age of 66 in London. Mankad played 47 first-class matches for Mumbai between 1972 and 1985, in which he scored 2,111 runs@35.77, with five hundreds and 12 fifties, besides picking up seven wickets@35.71. He was a part of the team's Ranji Trophy triumphs multiple times.

kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambia was murdered at the behest of Canada-based Snover Dhillon, who was running the National Kabaddi Federation of Ontario, over professional rivalry, the Punjab police claimed on Saturday. Sandeep was shot dead by five unidentified assailants during an ongoing Kabaddi match in village Mallian in Jalandhar on March 14.

Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) has unanimously decided to suspend six individuals, including four riders, for two years after an inquiry committee found them guilty of an impersonation scam to represent the Nepal team at the Tent Pegging World Cup Qualifiers held in March last year. Seven other individuals were also issued warnings based on the committee's recommendation in a recent emergent EC meeting of the federation. According to a statement issued by the EFI, the inquiry committee was set up to investigate complaints about Indian citizens representing the Nepal team.
Sandeep Nangal Ambia was shot dead during a kabaddi tournament at Mallian Khurd village, in Nakodar subdivision of Punjab's Jalandhar district, on Monday evening. It is learnt that Sandeep had come to attend the tournament and some people were taking selfies with him when four-five assailants arrived in a car.
