No Deepika Kumari in Asian Games archery squad for the first time since 2010

Deepika Kumari has failed to make the Indian squad for the upcoming Asian Games, suffering one of the biggest setbacks in her illustrious career. Deepika lost two of her three round robin matches in the final leg to miss the Asian Games berth at the SAI centre on Sunday. Deepika had finished a lowly fifth in the two-phase eliminations on Saturday to determine the top-eight, as she had to fight in the round robin matches. The Asian Games will take place in Hangzhou from September 10-25.

Ricky Ponting - Shane Watson - IPL 2022: Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni are very different cricketers, but they are both cool, calm, and collected, says new Delhi Capitals assistant coach Shane Watson - timesofindia.indiatimes.com - Australia - India - Delhi - New Delhi

IPL 2022: Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni are very different cricketers, but they are both cool, calm, and collected, says new Delhi Capitals assistant coach Shane Watson

Rishabh Pant has put in a lot of work behind the scenes as far as both his batting and wicket-keeping skills are concerned. Since his international debut in 2017, Pant has gone through various phases - some good, some not so much. What has been heartening to see though is that he has stayed true to his natural attacking style of play with the bat. He has also of course received tremendous support from everyone he has been involved with - both at the India and the IPL levels. Most people realised pretty early on that Pant is a s[special talent and they decided to back him to the hilt. With time, Pant has managed to cement his place in the national team, across formats as a playing XI regular. Former Australian cricketer Shane Watson, who at one time was recognised as one of the best all-rounders in international cricket will now get to see Pant up close and personal at the Delhi Capitals IPL camp. Having joined the Delhi Capitals as their new assistant coach, under compatriot and former teammate Ricky Ponting (Head Coach), Watson is excited to work with Pant, who also happens to be the DC captain.

How Rishabh Pant combined impactful knocks with improved safe glovework

Man of the series Rishabh Pant showed against Sri Lanka that he had improved his glovework by leaps & bounds to add to his considerable batting skillsThere is an advertisement featuring India keeper-bat Rishabh Pant that shows him speaking about his reverence for former India skipper MS Dhoni and how he used to cut out his pictures from newspapers and magazines and store them without knowing that one day, he and Dhoni would appear in the same photograph. It's quite a symbolic ad. Every aspiring young Indian keeper-batsman in the last decade wanted to be MS Dhoni. Pant was no different. It proved to be quite a heavy cross to carry though. Pant felt it on his home ground at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi in an ODI vs Australia in 2019 where he fluffed chances and messed up on DRS calls and heard the crowd chant "Dhoni, Dhoni". It was a rude message about what the fans thought of his skills, especially with the gloves.
