The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the names of the winners of the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League on Wednesday. The board fetched a total of INR 4669.99 crore from the 5 bidders that won the ownership of the franchises. Adani Sportsline made the biggest of all five franchises, winning the owners of the Ahmedabad team for a price of INR 1289 crore. Next came Indiawin Sports who earned the rights for the Mumbai franchise with the bid of INR 912.99 crore. Among the men's Indian Premier League franchises, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were the only ones to have bagged a team.

NEW DELHI : India player Rishabh Pant is being flown to Mumbai where he will undergo surgeries having suffered multiple injuries in a car crash last week, the country's cricket board (BCCI) said on Wednesday.
With an eye on the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, the BCCI has shortlisted a pool of 20 players, sources told NDTV. Also, top players could be asked to skip the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with the BCCI wanting players to focus on ICC events, and to avoid injury problems. The decision was taken during BCCI's performance review meeting, which took place at a seven star hotel in Mumbai. In attendance were coach Rahul Dravid, Captain Rohit Sharma, NCA chairman VVS Laxman, ex Chief selector Chetan Sharma. Board President Roger Binny joined through video conferencing.
