Mark Selby did just enough to beat Cao Yupeng at the British Open and seal his place in the last 16. Selby wasn't on top form but was able to capitalise on Cao's errors to take a 4-2 win inside the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.

Judd Trump eased into the last 32 of the British Open with a comprehensive 4-0 whitewash of Dean Young. Former world champion Trump required a lengthy first frame to get the ball rolling, however, missing an easy pink early on to give his Scottish opponent something to play for.
