Oleksandr Usyk will be hoping to maintain his unbeaten career record to date as he prepares to take on Anthony Joshua in a rematch this Saturday in Saudi Arabia.
JEDDAH: Briton Anthony Joshua is fighting for his career on Saturday against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who can boost the morale of his compatriots in war-torn Ukraine by retaining his world heavyweight belts in Saudi Arabia. Joshua, 32, has much on the line as he strives to become a three-time world champion and perhaps spark fellow Briton Tyson Fury into performing another U-turn on retiring and set up a blockbuster unifying title bout. Back-to-back defeats by Usyk, who outboxed him in London last September, would be a career-crippling setback for the 2012 Olympics super heavyweight gold medallist who also crashed to a surprise TKO against Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019. Usyk, the undefeated former cruiserweight world champion, won on an unanimous decision in only his third professional fight as a heavyweight.
Ukraine's defending champion Oleksandr Usyk will hold the upper hand in the "Rage on the Red Sea" heavyweight world title rematch with Britain's Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
South Africa fast bowler Anrich Nortje paid tribute to captain Dean Elgar's "honesty" after the Proteas' innings and 12-run rout of England in the first Test at Lord's.
Nortje finished with match figures of 6-110 as South Africa completed a crushing victory inside three days in London to go 1-0 up in a three-match series. The 28-year-old express quick was especially effective after lunch on Friday, taking three wickets for no runs in 10 balls to have Jonny Bairstow, Alex Lees and Ben Foakes all caught behind as he repeatedly topped speeds of 90 mph (145 kph) and even surpassed 95 mph at one stage.
PFL London is set to take place tonight (Saturday, August 20th 2022) from the Copper Box Arena in London, England, but what happened at the official weigh-ins for the MMA event?
In the months following his defeat Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua conceded ‘there were too many voices’ in his corner of the ring that fateful night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
