"Glad I Could Shut People...": Harry Brook After Maiden IPL 2023 Ton For SRH vs KKR

Harry Brook did incur the wrath of Indian fans whose opinion about players is as fickle as English weather but he is happy that his maiden IPL hundred will "shut them up" for good. Having scored 29 in three games so far, Brook came to his own with a 55-ball unbeaten 100 that ensured a 23-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL match here on Friday. "I was putting pressure on myself a little bit. You go on social media and people are calling you rubbish. There's a lot of Indian fans out there who'll say well done tonight. But they were slagging me off a few days ago. Glad I could shut them up to be honest," Brook said after the match.

Their bowlers despite some hammering from home skipper Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh were restricted to 205 for 7 in 20 overs. Brook, who was roped in after his exploits in Pakistan, finally announced his arrival in style, when he smashed four fours and two sixes inside first three overs to give SRH the best start of the season.

WPL To Be Held In February With Bigger Window, Home And Away Format: Report

The Women's Premier League will be played in the home-away format from the next edition onwards with a bigger window, most likely in February, a source in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed on Friday. The inaugural edition of the tournament was held here from March 4-26 across two venues in Mumbai. Earlier this month, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had told PTI that WPL will remain a five-team tournament for the next three seasons and it will be staged in the home and away format as that was "important for building a fan base".

"Nobody In Team Gave Him Sympathy": Rahul Tewatia On Yash Dayal Getting Hit For 5 Sixes

Gujarat Titans bounced back from a nail-biting last-ball defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders to secure another thrilling victory over Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It was all-rounder Rahul Tewatia who showed his presence of mind to dispatch the ball to fine-leg boundary when the team needed 4 runs to win from 2 balls. At the press conference, Tewatia was asked about the previous game against the Knight Riders, especially about how the team dealt with pacer Yash Dayal who conceded 5 sixes in the final over.

"Something Is Lacking": Ex-India Batter's Brutal Take On KKR Overseas Star In IPL 2023

Former Indian cricket team opener Aakash Chopra was not impressed with how Andre Russell has performed for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Russell had a good start in the first match against Punjab Kings but in the next two games, he has failed to score much with Rashid Khan dismissing him cheaply in the last match against Gujarat Titans. Ahead of KKR's game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chopra said that players like Rinku Singh and skipper Nitish Rana have stepped up but Russell's form remains a major concern for the Kolkata side.

After what he did for Kolkata Knight Riders in the side's third IPL 2023 match, many young cricket aspirants must be wanting to become Rinku Singh.
