Players should be allowed to review wide, high no-balls: Daniel Vettori, Imran Tahir

Daniel Vettori and South African spinner Imran Tahir reckon that wides and height no-balls should also come under the DRS scanner as umpires' call sparked fresh debate during Rajasthan Royals' IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders here. Defending 18 runs from the last two overs, Royals skipper Sanju Samson was visibly upset by umpire Nitin Pandit's three wide calls despite considerable movement from the batters -- Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana -- on a couple of occasions in the penultimate over on Monday. Samson then went on to ask for a review when the ball was miles away from the bat in his sarcastic way of protest.

IPL 2022: From Kuldeep to Buttler, from Rahul to DK - the most impactful players of the season so far

There are a few players who have been head and shoulders above the rest in terms of their consistency and have hogged the limelight in the ongoing 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, earning praise from experts and fans alike. Some are established players, who are expected to perform well, and some are newcomers who have impressed everyone with their performances. Some of them are scoring truckloads of runs, and some are taking a bucketful of wickets for their teams. But are they the most impactful players for their teams? How will we decide their impactfulness? There can be many different criteria to check the impact of a player in the team, but one tried and tested way is to count the number of Man-of-the-Match (MoM) won by the players. The Man of the Match award is given to the player who had the maximum impact in the match, sometimes regardless of the result. Which is why every once in a while we see a player who ended up on the losing side walking away with the Man of the Match award. Taking that as a criteria, Timesofindia.com analysed the winners of MoM awards so far to find out who have played the biggest roles in their team's success and found Delhi Capitals' wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav as the frontrunner, playing the lead role in all their four wins so far. Apart from Kuldeep, six more players have won multiple MoM awards for their teams -- but they are all two awards each. Here's how these seven players have played a leading role in their teams' success so far in IPL 2022:(All statistics in this article are updated till Match No. 47 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals on May 2, 2022.) Kuldeep Yadav (Delhi Capitals): M 9 | W 17 | Best 4/14 | Av. 15.82 | Econ 8.23 | SR 11.52

Trying To Perform Anchor's Role After 7-8 Years In IPL: Rana

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Nitish Rana said having plied his trade in the IPL for considerable number of years, he is now trying to adapt to the role of an anchor, which was on full display against Rajasthan Royals here. Rana, who hit an unbeaten 48, anchored the 153-run chase on a slow-paced Wankhede wicket to help KKR beat RR by seven wickets on Monday and snap their five-match losing streak.

"Was Brought To Rectify Mistakes": Daniel Vettori Wants 'Wides' Under DRS

The Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders match on Monday saw an interesting incident where Royals captain Sanju Samson decided to review a decision out of sheer frustration as the on-field umpire ruled it wide, despite batter Rinku Singh moving around his crease and going further away from the off-stump to try and play the ball. KKR were in a comfortable position and looked good to win the match anyway, but a few contentious wide calls left Samson frustrated.
