After Quinton de Kock hit a scintillating 50, it was the bowlers, led by Avesh Khan, who dominated the proceedings, to bundle out KKR for 101 and record a huge win which helped them to move to the top of the table. "Played really well, started well with the bat... Was a tricky wicket. Knew it was going to be slow and sticky. Had to get around 150-160," Rahul said during the post-match presentation.

Chasing a target of 177 runs, KKR were bowled out for 101 in 14.3 overs. Avesh Khan and Jason Holder were in top form for LSG's bowling department, taking three wickets each. Earlier, a knock of 50 runs off 29 balls by Quinton de Kock helped LSG post 176 for seven in 20 overs.

Rahul was run-out for a diamond duck (out without facing a ball), as his opposite number Shreyas Iyer swooped in from short extra-cover and effected a brilliant direct hit in the first over of the Lucknow innings.

It was an extremely forgettable day at work for Knight Riders as none of its batters except Finch, Russell and Narine could touch double figures and the side surrendered helplessly to the LSG attack. With this win, LSG now take the top spot at the points table with 16 points. With half as points as the Super Giants, KKR lay at eighth position in the table.

For last year's runners-up KKR, eight points from 11 games with a deflating negative run-rate now puts them closer to the exit door with lacklustre performance and unimaginative captaincy combining for what has turned out to be a disastrous season so far.
