Legendary Australia captain Ricky Ponting believes David Warner missed an opportunity to hang up his boots in Test cricket at the Sydney Cricket Ground earlier this year but believes the opener is set to make a comeback in the format. Warner's Test future is in doubt after he had to fly back to Australia following the second Test in Delhi after suffering a concussion and fracturing his elbow. His Test form has been a growing concern since 2022. In 14 matches, Warner has scored just 607 runs at 26.39 which includes a double-century in the Boxing Day Test against South Africa.

Tara Norris, a 24-year-old hailing from Philadelphia sealed the fate of the match in just two overs. In her WPL debut, she took wickets of some renowned batters in the world and became the first player to take a fifer in WPL, to guide Delhi Capitals to a 60-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in their campaign opener in Mumbai on Sunday.

Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning slammed attacking fifties, while left-arm pace bowler Tara Norris grabbed a five-wicket haul as Delhi Capitals thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 60 runs in their Women's Premier League opener, in Mumbai on Sunday. Norris destroyed the RCB lineup, returning figures of 5/29 after Delhi Capitals had put up an imposing 223 for two at the Brabourne Stadium. Chasing the mammoth 224, the Smriti Mandhana-led side were restricted to 163 for eight in 20 overs.

How Delhi Capitals Fielded Five Foreign Players Against Royal Challengers Bangalore Despite 4-Player Limit In WPL

Delhi Capitals fielded five foreign cricketers in their playing XI against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women's Premier League (WPL) despite the competition having a strict four-foreign player rule. Like the Indian Premier League, the WPL franchises are also allowed to play just four foreign cricketers in the team but DC have been provided with a special allowance. DC were given the allowance because of the presence of United States of America (USA) pacer Tara Norris. According to the rules, any team will be allowed to field five overseas players if one of them is from an associate nation. Currently, no other team in the tournament has a cricketer from any associate nation.
