Arjun Tendulkar was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) for Rs 30 lakh in the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022) mega auction in Bengaluru on Sunday. Son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun had been picked up by Mumbai Indians for Rs 20 lakh in 2021. This time, Arjun attracted two bidders -- Gujarat Titans bidding for his services for a fee of Rs 25 lakh after MI's initial bid of Rs 20 lakh. However, MI returned with a bid of Rs 30 lakh that proved enough to acquire the 22-year-old cricketer's services.
England pacer Chris Jordan was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 3.6 crore during the accelerated part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction on Sunday. South Africa batter David Miller got sold to Gujarat Giants for Rs 3 crore while Australia wicketkeeper batter Matthew Wade was also acquired by Gujarat Titans for Rs 2.4 crore England batter Sam Billings was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 2 crore. Meanwhile, Indian wicketkeeper batter Wriddhiman Saha was sold to Gujarat Giants for Rs 1.9 crore.
India's U19 World Cup-winning captain Yash Dhull was snapped up by Delhi Capitals (DC) for Rs 50 lakh in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) mega auction in Bengaluru on Sunday. Having led India to a record-extending fifth U19 World Cup title earlier this month, Dhull was rewarded with an IPL deal on Sunday. He reacted to the development saying it was a "dream come true". "Hi Delhi Capitals. Thank you for showing faith in me and selecting me at the auctions. I have been a part of Delhi Capitals Bal Bhavan Academy for 8-9 years. So this is a dream come true for me. I am really excited to join the team and I am ready to give my best," Dhull was quoted as saying in a DC press release.
Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar has said that Mumbai Indians made a lot of compromises to acquire Ishan Kishan and Jofra Archer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. Mumbai Indians picked up Ishan Kishan for Rs 15.25 crore and then pace sensation Archer was acquired for Rs 8 crore. "Jofra Archer is just a brilliantly gifted bowler and he's done it in the IPL before. He's your 'super over' bowler, in fact, there might be a fight between the two as to who will bowl the super over. But the mystery has been unravelled - why was Mumbai Indians so cautious and bailing out - because 23 crores was spent on two players - Ishan Kishan and Jofra Archer. Jofra Archer was a real suspect, who would've thought who would think like this," Manjrekar said on Star Sports' show 'Cricket Live -- IPL Auction Special.

England pacer Tymal Mills was sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.5 crore while West Indies pacer Obed McCoy was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 75 lakh. Chennai Super Kings acquired New Zealand all-rounder Adam Milne for Rs 1.9 crore and on the other hand Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Australia Jason Behrendroff for Rs 75 lakh.
