India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja recently completed a decade with Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Celebrating the milestone, CSK posted a tweet on Friday with a two-picture compilation containing a photo of Jadeja presumably from 10 years back and another from recent times. "10 Years of Super Jaddu," tweeted CSK. Jadeja responded to CSK's tweet with a tongue-in-cheek remark of his own. "10 more to go," replied Jadeja. The CSK star added a laughter emoji to his tweet, conveying the playful tone of his message.

Athletics season to begin with Indian Open Throws event in Delhi on Feb 26

Neeraj Chopra's Olympic gold medal-winning feat. Star javelin thrower Chopra had clinched the country's first Olympic gold in athletics in Tokyo Games on August 7 last year and the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) had earlier said that national javelin day will be observed to mark the feat. The Federation Cup Senior National Athletics Championships will be held in Kozhikode from April 2-6, while the Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships and National Open Athletics Championships will be staged in Chennai (June 10-14) and Jamshedpur (October 15-19), respectively.

ATP World Tour event at home is the best opportunity the Indian singles players could have, to earn points, move up the ranking ladder apart from filling their pockets with decent prize money to survive on the Pro circuit. However, the heavy investment which is no less than Rs 15 crore each year, has not been utilised by the current generation of India players as none of them has managed to cross even the second round in four editions of the Tata Open Maharashtra. The lanky and fit Ramkumar Ramanathan has made the second round twice (2018, 2019) while Prajnesh Gunneswaran (2020) and Yuki Bhambri (2018) cleared the first round once each.

Ranji Trophy from February 10 to June 26 at 9 venues

Ranji Trophy, which will be held in two phases, will kick off from February 10 and conclude on June 26, BCCI secretary Jay Shah communicated to all the state associations in an e-mail (TOI has a copy) which detailed the format of the tournament, on Thursday. Listing out the highlights of the 2020-21 edition of the Ranji Trophy, Shah informed that a total of 38 teams will feature in the tournament at nine venues. The league stage will be held before the IPL from February 10 to March 15, and will have 57 matches.

The Ranji Trophy would be held in two phases and now it has been confirmed that the pre-Indian Premier League (IPL) phase would run from February 10 to March 15. In a letter sent out by BCCI secretary Jay Shah to all state-affiliated units, the details have been specified on how Ranji Trophy would be conducted this season. The post-IPL-phase would run from May 30 to June 26. The Ranji Trophy this season would see 64 matches being played across 62 days.

Prajnesh keen to regain title at Bengaluru Open ATP Challenger

Prajnesh Gunneswaran is keen to regain the Bengaluru Open title which he won in the 2018 as the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association gears up to host back-to-back ATP Challenger events starting Sunday with the qualifiers. "I have great memories of Bengaluru. I practiced at the KSLTA for a fairly long period and I have had a good outing at the Challengers," Prajnesh said.
