Rohit Sharma, India's 'Hitman' new Test skipper

Virat Kohli struts and shouts, Rohit Sharma strolls and smiles, preferring a more genial approach to the art of cricket captaincy than his predecessor as India's Test skipper. "A captain needs to stand at (the) forefront while performing, and for everything else needs to stand at the back," Rohit told an event before his appointment to one of most high-pressure jobs in world sport. The skipper "can make a difference by standing at the back because then he can make sure he puts his hand around everyone", he said. The captain has to be "the least important member of the team".

Parthiv Patel Compares MS Dhoni And Rohit Sharma's Leadership Styles

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel found similarities in the captaincy of MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. Parthiv, who has played under both Dhoni and Rohit in the IPL, said Rohit offers "security" and "backing" to the players, which helps in getting the best out of them like Dhoni used to do for years. Parthiv's comments came after Rohit got off to a rollicking start in his stint as full-time white-ball skipper. India blanked West Indies 3-0 in the ODI series, which was Rohit's first series as India's ODI captain and then took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
