Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Friday said he will "definitely" play in the IPL next year as not doing so would be "unfair" to the city after which the Chennai Super Kings is named and which treats him like its own. With this, the 40-year-old Dhoni put to rest speculations around his participation in the lucrative league next season. "Definitely, I will play next year. It would be unfair not to say thank you to Chennai, to not play in Chennai. It won't be nice to the CSK fans," Dhoni said at the toss for CSK's final match of the ongoing season, against Rajasthan Royals.

IPL 2022, RR vs CSK: Rajasthan Royals eye coveted second spot in game against Chennai Super Kings

Can Royals get two bites of the cherry?Thrown into several difficult situations, Rajasthan Royals have responded quite impressively to emerge as one of the most consistent and dangerous sides of IPL 2022. Their middle-order fragility has been a cause for concern, but over a span of 13 league matches, the Sanju Samson-led outfit has often found heroes to take them home. The biggest plus for Royals this season has been the team effort, with the bowling unit being central to their success. With many positives in the bag, Royals will take the field for their last league match on Friday at the Brabourne Stadium against out- of- contention Chennai Super Kings with eyes on the second playoff spot. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who finished playing their quota of league games on Wednesday, are currently in possession of the second berth, but a win will put the Royals ahead on better net run rate.

IPL 2022, RCB vs GT Live Updates: Shubman Gill Departs, Wriddhiman Saha Going Strong vs RCB

IPL 2022 Live Score Updates Between Royal Challengers vs Gujarat Titans: GT openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill provided a good start but the latter soon fell to an epic catch by Glenn Maxwell. GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat against Faf du Plessis-led RCB. RCB will have playoffs qualification in their mind when they take on league leaders Gujarat Titans in a crucial IPL 2022 fixture from Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. RCB are currently fifth in the Points Table with seven wins from 13 games while GT are placed at the top with 10 wins from 13 matches.
