In-form Chennai Quick Guns completed impressive hat-trick of wins in the inaugural edition of Ultimate Kho Kho by clinching a sensational 2-point win against Gujarat Giants while Telugu Yoddhas secured top position on the points table by thrashing Mumbai Khiladis by 12 points at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Pune, Maharashtra on Tuesday. Extending his brilliant performance in the league, Ramji Kashyap scored massive 20 points with six dismissals as Chennai Quick Guns finished the thrilling match with a 53-51 score. Murali Vijay and state player Anirudha Srikkanth, son of former captain Krisnamachari Srikkanth, will be among three city-based amateurs in the Chennai Open Golf Championship, starting here from Tuesday. The other amateur is Suman Ranjeet. Top-flight golf returns to the city after four years with the tournament which will see participation of the country's top golfers. The tournament, part of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Tour and to be held at the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation (TNGF) golf course, will see 126 golfers including 123 professionals and three amateurs taking part, the organisers said at a press meet here on Monday.

Young Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa produced a superb performance, wining three straight games including two in the blitz tie-breaks to outwit world No.1 Magnus Carlsen 4-2 in the final round of the FTX Crypto Cup here on Monday. However, despite the win over Carlsen, the 17-year old could only take second place in the final standings. The Norwegian won the top prize on the basis of a higher score. He finished with 16 match points to the Indian prodigy's tally of 15.

Former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard and India’s Ankita Raina have been given wildcards for the tournament. During a curtain-raiser event here on Tuesday, the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) announced that along with Bouchard and Ankita, Sharmada Balu and Riya Bhatia got wildcards in doubles category. Garcia, 28, bagged her third title of the season in Cincinnati and returned to the top-20 of the women’s world rankings and currently occupies the 17th spot.

MS Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 was a great learning experience and it helped him in improving as a cricketer. During the IPL mega auction in February this year, Dube was bought by the Super Kings for Rs 4 crore. The 29-year-old cricketer had a mixed outing in the tournament.
