Stormers coach John Dobson has made six changes to his team for Saturday's URC coastal derby against the Sharks in Cape Town.

Team Malizia were on the verge of having to turn back to Cape Town on another dramatic day at The Ocean Race but crew member Will Harris completed an incredible repair of the boat’s mast on Thursday night. Following GUYOT environnement-Team Europe’s decision to suspend racing, Malizia nearly followed in their footsteps when a 30cm crack was noticed at the top of the mast. GUYOT Environnement-Team Europe skipper Benjamin Dutreux has explained that two big cracks forced them to return to Cape Town in one of the most dramatic moments of The Ocean Race. The team were running in second place, around 34 nautical miles behind Team Holcim-PRB on day four when it was announced they had a problem with the hull. Ad They declared a “hull sandwich failure” was causing “abnormal movements” which forced them to suspend racing.
Team Malizia have confirmed that their crew will attempt a critical mast repair on the water during Leg 3 of The Ocean Race 2022-23. The damage was discovered on Wednesday afternoon, with Malizia's technical team working hard to find a solution. Ad That solution will now be implemented on Thursday and while the team will stay on the water, it will obviously result in a major slowdown as the work will take a long time and be complicated.
