India pacer Mohammed Siraj has revealed that he thought his Indian Premier League (IPL) was over after a poor 2019 campaign with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In the nine matches Siraj played in 2019 for RCB, he took seven wickets and conceded runs at an economy rate of 9.55. In the game against KKR, Siraj conceded 36 runs in 2.2 overs and he was forced out of the attack after bowling two beamers.

It is understood that RCB, who have Rs 57 crore in their auction purse are interested about three players including Holder, former CSK batter Ambati Rayudu and young ex-Rajasthan Royals turk Riyan Parag.

Kohli had stepped down as RCB skipper after IPL 2021 and was retained by the franchise ahead of the mega auction 2022. "If Virat Kohli can take over the captaincy and if he is happy to do it and if he has the energy to do it, I think that will be the easiest solution for them. At the end of the day, we have seen RCB over the years; they haven't invested enough money in making a proper team of 12, 13 or 14 players with enough depth," said Agarkar on Star Sports show 'Game Plan: IPL auction special'.
Former India pacer Ajit Agarkar said if Virat Kohli is willing to take up the captaincy again then it could be the "easiest solution" for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of IPL 2022. Kohli had decided to quit as RCB's captain weeks after announcing that the 2021 World Cup would be his last as India's captain in the shortest format of the game. In December last year, the prolific right-hander was replaced by Rohit Sharma as India's white-ball skipper and a month later, Kohli decided to quit as Test captain following a 1-2 defeat to South Africa. Kohli, however, was retained by RCB as a player and Agarkar feels it might just be the best thing for RCB if he continues as the leader.
The triumphant India U-19 squad will be felicitated by the BCCI in Ahmedabad upon its arrival in India. On Sunday, the BCCI announced cash reward of Rs 40 lakh each for the squad members and Rs 25 lakh each for support staff. Following their famous win over England on Saturday, the Indian contingent called on the Indian High Commissioner to Guyana. With little time to celebrate the success in the Caribbean, the squad will take the long flight back home on Sunday evening with connecting flights from Amsterdam and Bangalore before eventually landing in Ahmedabad.
