Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be without the services of the now-retired South African star batter AB de Villiers for the first time in over a decade when the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022) season begins later this year. IPL 2022 Auction Live: Day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction is set to get underway in a few hours' time in Bengaluru. IPL 2022 auction is less than a day away and the preparations are on in every IPL franchise to get the right strategy in place. This is a big auction as all the established teams have had to let go of players who formed the core group. Teams like Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have been successful over the years because of a tight core, which they managed to keep. While these two teams and the others have retained some important players, they have also had to release a lot of key players and that gives a change to other teams to land them during the IPL mega auction that takes places in Bengaluru on Saturday and Sunday.

Harbhajan Singh lavished praise on wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, saying many teams would go after him in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction as the young cricketer can win the game with his impeccable batting. He added that Kishan's presence in the team provides an edge in the batting department as the 23-year-old has a strike rate of over 130 in T20 cricket. "It will be tough because many teams will go after Ishan Kishan at the auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore would definitely target him," Harbhajan said in a video on his YouTube channel.
