LSG's Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul smash record opening IPL partnership

Quinton de Kock and India's KL Rahul recorded the highest opening partnership in Indian Premier League history on Wednesday as their stand of 210 fired the Lucknow Super Giants to the playoffs with a two-run win over the Kolkata Knight Riders. De Kock scored an unbeaten 140 off 70 balls and captain Rahul scored 68 not out from 51 balls as they became the first pair to bat 20 overs in an IPL innings. Their opening stand surpassed the previous best of 185 by Jonny Bairstow and David Warner for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019, while De Kock also set the highest individual score this season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Titans, IPL 2022: When And Where To Watch Live Telecast, Live Streaming

Royal Challengers Bangalore face Gujarat Titans in Match 67 of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With a place in the playoffs up for grabs, RCB will eye a big win over table-toppers GT, who have already qualified for the next round. RCB have seven of their 13 games so far this season, while GT have won 10 from the same number of outings. RCB have heavily relied on skipper Faf du Plessis' form with the bat, while Wanindu Hasaranga has been impactful with ball, taking 23 wickets in 13 matches. GT, on the other hand, have managed to keep the balance between both the departments.

Newcomers GT have so far had a dream opening season as they are already assured of a top spot in the standings with 20 points from 13 games. RCB, on the other hand, have had a mixed bag this season, registering seven wins and six losses to occupy the fifth spot with 14 points from 13 matches.

"Would Have Been A Simpler, Easy Choice" For Captaincy: Sanjay Manjrekar On Veteran Punjab Kings Player

Punjab Kings failed to chase down a middling target against Delhi Capitals on Monday and as a result face an uphill task in their last match if they are to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs. The loss left them at 12 points with just one match to play, two behind the likes of Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are in the drivers' seat to make it to the top 4.

IPL 2022: Desperate measures for both Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants

Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants will be desperately looking at when they play their last league match of this IPL at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday. LSG, with 16 points, have one foot in the playoffs and a win will guarantee them a berth. Knowing that four teams (Rajasthan Royals, LSG, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore) can end up at 16 points, the IPL debutants would not like to take any chances and get into a complicated net-runrate equation to qualify. A big win on Wednesday can see them qualify as the second-best side after Gujarat Titans. For KKR, a win will see them finish on 14 points and can only guarantee them a waiting-list ticket, the confirmation of which will depend on how some of the other teams fare in this last week of the league phase.
