Tata Group on Tuesday bagged the title rights for the inaugural Women's Premier League beginning in Mumbai on March 4. "I am delighted to announce the #TataGroup as the title sponsor of the inaugural #WPL. With their support, we're confident that we can take women's cricket to the next level," BCCI secretary Jay Shah tweeted. The financials of the deal was not revealed.

IPL 2023 opener in Ahmedabad, the BCCI announced on Friday as it unveiled the schedule for the upcoming season. The 16th edition of the tournament starts from March 31 and the last league match will be played on May 21.All the 10 franchises will play 7 home and 7 away matches during the league phase of the tournament. A total of 70 league matches will be played and will include 18 double headers, the board announced. The league matches will be played over a course of 52 days at 12 venues.
Smriti Mandhana will be leading Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural season of the Women's Premier League, former India skipper Virat Kohli confirmed on Saturday. A video message was posted on the social media by RCB with a special message from Kohli. "From one No. 18 to another, from one skipper to another, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis announce RCB's captain for the Women's Premier League - Smriti Mandhana," the franchise wrote on Twitter. Mandhana created history in the WPL auction by becoming the costliest player after commanding a price of Rs 3.4 crore after a bidding war.
