Heavy snow fell throughout Sunday at the Beijing Winter Olympics disrupting several events and forcing athletes to battle through treacherous conditions in the pursuit of gold. Californian-born Chinese sensation Eileen Gu was among the competitors affected when her bid for a second gold medal was temporarily derailed by the postponement of qualifying for the freeski slopestyle. The second of three training runs for the women's downhill skiing was cancelled and women's freestyle skiing aerials qualification was also postponed. Environmentalists in the build-up to the Games in the Chinese capital had voiced concern about an Olympics taking place in one of the driest parts of China and relying almost entirely on man-made snow.
Indian Open 2022 Golf Cancelled Due To COVID-19 Pandemic
The DP World Tour, earlier known as European Tour, on Thursday confirmed the cancellation of the 2022 Indian Open and the postponement of this season's China Open due to ongoing restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. After being postponed from its original scheduled date of February 17 -20, it had been hoped to reschedule the Indian Open later this spring but it will now not take place in 2022. The Indian Golf Union remains fully committed to the tournament, and along with the DP World Tour, are planning for it to return to the Tour's schedule in 2023.

Winter Olympics 2022 - Shaoang Liu wins 500m short track gold as favourites exit early in Beijing
Shaoang Liu won 500m short track speed skating gold at the Winter Olympics in a competition which saw the favourites fail to make it to the final in Beijing. The Hungarian finished ahead of Konstantin Ivliev of the Russian Olympic Committee and Canada's Steven Dubois to upgrade from the 1000m bronze he won earlier at the Games.
