A nerveless India overcame a sticky Nepal 3-2 through a penalty shootout in their semifinal match on Wednesday to set up the SAFF Under-19 Championship final against Pakistan. India will face their arch-rivals in the summit clash on Saturday at the Dashrath Stadium. The match went into tie-breaker after the score stood at 1-1 after the regulation time, which saw both the sides playing some fast-paced football. Sahil Khurshid had put India ahead in the 26th minute but Nepal drew level through a 74th minute strike by Samir Tamang.

India Top Group To Storm Into SAFF U-19 Semi-finals

India qualified for the SAFF U19 Championship semifinals with a 2-1 victory over Bhutan at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Monday. Both the teams were locked 1-1 at half-time. India Announce 23-Member Squad For SAFF U-16 Championship

The AIFF on Sunday announced India's U-16 squad comprising 23 members for the upcoming SAFF Championship to be played next month. India's men's U-16 head coach Ishfaq Ahmed has named Rohit, Aheibam Suraj Singh and Arush Hari as goalkeepers for the tournament to be held in Thimpu, Bhutan, from September 1-10.
