4/5 In 15.5 Overs, 10 Maidens: West Indies' Jayden Seales Sets 'Cheapest' Record In Tests With Great Display vs Bangladesh

West Indies pacer Jayden Seales achieved a remarkable feat with his four-wicket haul on Day 2 of the 2nd Test against Bangladesh on Monday at Sabina Park in Kingston. Seales scripted his name on the record book as he delivered the best economical spell in men's Test cricket since 1978. He achieved the milestone against Bangladesh in the 2nd Test. The Caribbean bowler picked up four wickets and gave just five runs in his 16-over spell. The 23-year-old had an economy rate of 0.30, which is considered the best figure a bowler achieved in Test cricket since 1978. Earlier in 2015, India pacer Umesh Yadav held the top place on the chart with a figure of 3/9 with an economy rate of 0.42.

First Time In 147 Years: England Register Unbelievable Record In Test Cricket Against New Zealand

England shattered records with another 'Bazball' run-chase of 104 runs during the first Test against New Zealand at Christchurch's Hagley Oval on Sunday, taking the least amount of overs to complete a 100-plus run chase in history of Test cricket. Set a target of 104 runs, England did lose Zak Crawley for just one run, but knocks from Ben Duckett (27 in 18 balls, with four boundaries and a six), Jacob Bethell, the Test debutant (50* in 37 balls, with eight fours and a six) and Joe Root (23* in 15 balls, with three boundaries and a six) helped them complete the chase in just 12.4 overs, the fastest-ever in Test history. Previously, the record was held by the losing side, NZ, who had chased down 109 against Bangladesh in 18.4 overs back in 2017 at the same venue.

BCB Chief Faruque Ahmed Believes Shakib Al Hasan Can Still Play For Bangladesh

Faruque Ahmed, president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), said he still believes Shakib al Hasan can play for the senior men's team, provided he gets clearance from legal authorities. Shakib, who retired from Tests and T20Is this year, had hoped to play his final Test on home soil. But security concerns meant he didn't get to do that and couldn't even get to play the ODI series against Afghanistan. It has also meant that Shakib, who was elected as MP from the ousted Awami League government, is not named in Bangladesh's ODI squad for tour of West Indies. "As for Shakib Al Hasan, I cannot provide a definitive answer. I want him to play, but his absence is not related to the cricket board.

Gautam Gambhir's Coaching Record Receives Big Verdict From Ex-India Star: "Unfair..."

Former India middle-order batter Ajay Jadeja on Saturday defended head coach Gautam Gambhir from the criticism he has received following the 0-3 drubbing against New Zealand, saying it's "unfair" given the short time he has been in the new role. Gambhir, the hero of the 2011 World Cup title triumph, took over the reins of the India team in July after Rahul Dravid's tenure ended. Following a bright start against Sri Lanka in the T20I series, India lost the ODI series to the home side. The Test team then thrashed Bangladesh 2-0 before a nightmare outing against New Zealand put Gambhir under massive scrutiny.

India vs Prime Minister XI: 1st Day's Play Abandoned Due To Rain; Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill Miss Pink Ball Game Time

Unrelenting rain forced the abandonment of the first-day's play of the two-day practice match between India and Prime Minister's XI on Saturday, robbing Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill of some much-needed Pink ball game time ahead of the day-night second Test against Australia at Adelaide. The teams have agreed to play a 50-over-a-side match on Sunday at the Manuka Oval, weather permitting. However, the day might have come as a dampener for captain Rohit, who had skipped the first Test at Perth to welcome a baby boy into his family, ahead of the Pink Ball Test, starting from December 6.
