India, under the leadership of Pawan Sehrawat, was able to maintain its lead in the Group A points standings for the Asian Games thanks to the margin of 37 points. Chinese Taipei has also won two out of two games, although they have a differential in score of 37 as opposed to India's 74, as per Olympics.com.

India's superstar cricketers endured a 3,400km (2,170 miles) cross-country journey to play a Cricket World Cup warm-up only for the match to be abandoned without a ball being bowled on Tuesday. India were to face the Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram, on the southern tip of India, but they were left kicking their heels due to torrential rain. On Saturday, their scheduled game against defending champions England up in the north-eastern city of Guwahati was also washed out. In total, the wet weather has so far forced three warm-up matches to be abandoned while three others have been rain-affected, leaving teams and players frustrated ahead of the tournament's start on Thursday.

Indian kabaddi players had a good day in office as both the men's and women's teams notched up comprehensive victories in their group fixtures at the Asian Games on Tuesday. The Indian men's team, who are a record seven-time champions, began their campaign with an emphatic 55-18 win over Bangladesh in a group A match. Later in the day, the women's side recorded a 56-23 win over South Korea in their second group A game. India, last edition's silver medallist, were held to a surprise 34-34 draw by Chinese Taipei in their opening match on Monday.

The Indian contingent will have a brilliant chance to add to their medals tally as athletes take part in finals across disciplines at the Asian Games 2023 on Tuesday (September 3). The Indian cricket team will begin their campaign with the quarterfinal match against Nepal while multiple boxers will be in action during medal events. The individual events in badminton also continue with Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu taking part. Athletics continued to be a major boost for India and they will have more chances of adding to their tally of 13 medals. India have already touched the 60-medal mark.
