Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh Surge In ICC Women's T20I Rankings

India stars surged in the ICC Women's T20I rankings with their all-round show which saw them complete a series whitewash over Bangladesh. India are enjoying success just months before this year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup as they registered a hard-fought whitewash of Bangladesh in the five-match series. ICC on Tuesday issued the latest women's T20I rankings with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur rising three places to 13th in the T20I batters list following her 105 runs for the series. Her compatriot Richa Ghosh moved up two places to 23rd following her unbeaten knock of 28* in the final match of the series.

Despite nursing a side strain, pacer Taskin Ahmed was on Tuesday included in Bangladesh's squad for the T20 World Cup to be held in the Americas next month. Scott Edwards To Lead Netherlands In T20 World Cup

Experienced Scott Edwards was on Monday named as the captain of the Netherlands for next month's T20 World Cup, the Royal Dutch Cricket Association announced. The 27-year-old Edwards was elected the skipper despite his modest outings in the recent tri-series, involving hosts Nepal and Namibia. Overall, he has played 56 T20I for the Netherlands, scoring 671 runs at a strike-rate of 122. Indian-origin cricketers – Teja Nidamanuru, Vikram Singh and Aryan Dutt – are also part of the squad.

Zimbabwe had a horror day on the field as they fumbled a golden chance to beat Bangladesh in the fourth T20I of a five-match series on Friday. Bangladesh lower-order batter Mustafizur Rahman survived two run outs in a single delivery, courtesy of Johnathan Campbell's fumble at the non-striker's end. The incident occurred on the second delivery of the 20th over of Bangladesh's innings Tanvir Islam and Mustafizur were involved in a mix-up. Zimbabwe, however, failed to capitalise, not once but twice.
