Najmul Hossain Shanto To Continue As Bangladesh Captain For ODI Series vs Afghanistan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named Najmul Hossain Shanto as captain for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in Sharjah next week, in a shakeup following Shanto's request to step down from all-format captaincy. The decision came after a discussion between Shanto and BCB president Faruque Ahmed on Thursday following Bangladesh's recent Test in Chattogram. Though Shanto will lead the squad against Afghanistan, the BCB has yet to announce a long-term decision on his captaincy or the squad for the West Indies tour later in November, where Bangladesh will play two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.

Bangladesh Make Massive Cricket Board Overhaul, Sack 11 Directors From BCB

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have ousted 11 directors from the board after they missed three or more consecutive meetings in accordance with the board constitution. Among those removed are former BCB president Nazmul Hassan and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) chairman Sheikh Sohel. The others include Manzur Kader, AJM Nasir Uddin, Anwarul Islam, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, Ismail Haider Mallick, Tanvir Ahmed, Obeid Nizam, Gazi Golam Murtoza, and Nazib Ahmed. Additionally, the board accepted resignations from three other directors: Naimur Rahman, Khaled Mahmud, and Enayet Hossain Siraj in its 15th meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
