MELBOURNE : Formula One world champion Max Verstappen said he will try to keep his off-track commitments in check and focus on his day job as a racer, wary that his title defence might suffer with too many distractions.
Regarded as one of the world's finest pacers, Pat Cummins said he was more surprised than anyone else after his Indian Premier League (IPL) record-equalling fastest fifty in Kolkata Knight Riders' five-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in Pune on Wednesday. Cummins reached his half century in just 14 balls, the same as KL Rahul, to help KKR chase down MI's total of 161 with four overs to spare. "I think I'm probably the most surprised by that innings. I'm glad that it came off. I was thinking of having a swing if it was in my area. Wasn't trying to overthink it," Cummins said at the post-match press presentation ceremony.

Now a Formula One driver himself, the 23-year-old will follow in his footsteps when he races at the Australian Grand Prix for the first time this weekend. "I'm quite excited, I'm looking forward to getting to know the track and getting to know the city as well," said the Haas driver.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja is hopeful of holding positive talks with his counterpart in the BCCI on the sidelines of the ICC meetings in Dubai from April 7 to 10. Ramiz and PCB's chief executive Faisal Hasnain left for Dubai on Wednesday night, aiming to push for a discussion on the proposal to hold a four-nation T20 tournament every year featuring India, Pakistan, England and Australia.
MELBOURNE: Formula One returns to Australia for the first time in three years on Sunday and Daniel Ricciardo hopes the break – and track renovations he had a say in determining – will help turn around his fortunes on his home circuit.
