Rohit, Boult star as Mumbai surge into IPL top four

HYDERABAD: Star batsman Rohit Sharma smashed 76 and pace bowler Trent Boult claimed 4-26 as Mumbai Indians thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad to move up to third in the IPL table on Wednesday. New Zealand’s Boult, a left-arm quick, and fellow pace bowler Deepak Chahar ripped apart the top of Hyderabad’s batting order as they collapsed to 35-5 before managing 143-8. Five-time champions Mumbai achieved their target with 26 balls and seven wickets to spare after Rohit registered his second successive half-century, smacking eight fours and three sixes in his 46-ball knock to lead the chase. But the 35-year-old Boult set up victory with his two early wickets and was named player of the match. “I still love the feeling of competing and getting wickets,” said Boult, who retired from international cricket in 2024. “It’s a huge tournament, there are hundreds of thousands of bowlers who’d love to do what we’re doing so it’s about not taking it for granted.” It was Mumbai’s fourth straight win and a victory that propelled them three spots from sixth in the 10-team table led by Gujarat Titans. Hyderabad, who are captained by Australia’s Pat Cummins, slumped to their sixth loss in eight matches. “We have a few away games now, it will be about assessing each wicket as quickly as possible,” said Cummins.

Former Test Head Coach Jason Gillespie Has Not Been Deprived Of Remunerations: Report

The PCB has said that Australian Jason Gillespie, who had resigned as the head coach of Pakistan's red-ball side in December last year, has not been deprived of his remunerations as is being claimed in media reports. A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source, reacting to media reports that the former Australian pacer had approached the International Cricket Council (ICC) and was weighing legal options over alleged unpaid dues, said the PCB had "done nothing out of contractual obligations". "There was a clear contract between the board and Gillespie and the PCB is only acting on what is laid down in the contract," the source said.

Jasprit Bumrah Is A 'Cat Burglar' For This Australia Great As India Gear Up For Border Gavaskar Trophy

Dubbed as the bowler "impossible to face" by swashbuckling Australian batter Travis Head and a "cat burglar" by former tearaway pacer Brett Lee, Jasprit Bumrah's reputation precedes him. The India pacer, who is set to captain India in the first Test of the five-match series starting on Friday, has left both past and present Australian players in awe of his skill and threat. Not since the golden era of the West Indies in the 1970s has a touring pace bowler struck fear into the hearts of Australians as much as Bumrah, according to the local media here.

Rishabh Pant Irked By LSG Star Over After Forced DRS Against KL Rahul Goes To Waste. Watch

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant was visibly irked after spinner Digvesh Rathi convinced him to take a DRS call against KL Rahul during their IPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals. The incident occurred on the final ball of the 7th over, with DC chasing 160 for the win. Rathi made a confident appeal for an LBW, but the on-field umpire showed no interest. Despite hesitating initially, Pant decided to take the review as Rathi somehow managed to convince him.

"Gives Delhi Capitals So Much Depth": Ex-RCB Star's Big Praise KL Rahul

Former Australia cricketer Shane Watson praised Delhi Capitals batter KL Rahul's controlled and calculated batting approach against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Speaking on Match Centre Live on JioHotstar, Watson highlighted Rahul's ability to adapt his game, demonstrating his flexibility and value to the Delhi Capitals team. "KL Rahul just did what he does best--Watson reflects on DC's batter innings against LSG. He didn't need to take risks, just played a steady hand and picked his moments. What stands out is his ability to switch gears--he's taken the game on throughout the tournament, but today he was calm, composed, and calculated. That kind of flexibility gives Delhi Capitals so much depth."JioStar expert Shane Watson said while speaking on Match Centre Live on JioHotstar.
