Former Australia opener Mark Waugh was extremely critical of the pitch in Indore after 14 wickets fell on Day 1 of the third Test encounter between India and Australia on Wednesday. The pitch produced uneven bounce for the players and most of the batters were stunned by the amount of spin on offer for the Aussie bowlers. India were bundled out for just 109 and in response, Australia started well but ended up losing four wickets before the end of day's play. "It was mayhem. The pitch was not up to test standard, I think that's a fair thing to say," Mark Waugh told Fox Sports after the day ended.

Australia's World Cup-winning skipper Meg Lanning will lead Delhi Capitals (DC) in the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) while India's star batter Jemimah Rodrigues will be her deputy, the franchise announced on Thursday. Lanning, 30, recently captained Australia to their record sixth title win in the T20 Women's World Cup, where they beat hosts South Africa in the title clash. Pujara looked confident on 59 and it looked like the veteran batter will be able to give India a good lead against Australia. However, Lyon pitched the delivery outside the leg stump and in an attempt to guide it towards fine leg, Pujara ended up edging it straight towards Smith. The Australia skipper had a slow start but was ultimately able to pull off a perfect catch by diving almost full length. This was the 13th time when Lyon dismissed Pujara in Test cricket – the most among the Indian top-order batters.
