PARIS — Unseeded Karolina Muchova reached her first Grand Slam final at the last place she expected, saving a match point and using a stirring comeback to grab the last five games despite dealing with leg problems for a 7-6 (5), 6-7 (5), 7-5 victory over No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka at the French Open on Thursday.
Australian Open champion Sabalenka would have taken over the top spot in the rankings by winning the title in Paris but she failed to convert her chance at 5-2 in the third set and bowed out to the gifted Czech, who cleverly defused her opponent's power game and took the last five games in a row.

After Australia piled on a huge 469-run total in their first innings of the World Test Championship final against India, a lot was expected from the opening duo of India skipper Rohit Sharma and talented youngster Shubman Gill. There were very few positives for India on the first day of the World Test Championship final at The Oval as Travis Head and Steve Smith put Australia in control with some great batting.
