The ongoing Ashes has been closely fought so far. After Australia won the first two tests, England won the third Test. The fourth Test of the five-match series starts in Manchester on Wednesday. Before the match, Australia batter Usman Khawaja opened up on the rough treatment that they have been getting from the English crowd. Since England star batter Jonny Bairstow was controversially stumped by Alex Carey off Cameron Green's bowling, first the Australian players were confronted in the Lord's long room, then in the third test too, the visitors were booed at Leeds. The aggressive behaviour has been criticised by Usman Khawaja.
The dismissal of Jonny Bairstow during the second Ashes Test between England and Australia at Lord's resulted in a massive controversy. Bairstow ducked a delivery from Cameron Green and although he thought it was okay to walk out of his crease, wicket-keeper Alex Carey quickly completed a direct hit and the umpires declared the batter out. While the Australians maintained that they were well within the rules of the game to appeal, English supporters were not pleased. They booed the Australian cricketers on the field and at lunch, Usman Khawaja got into a verbal spat with a few Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) members who were present at the legendary Long Room of Lord's.
The ongoing Ashes Test series has been filled with controversies but the most hilarious one involved Australia wicket-keeper Alex Carey and a haircut. During the third Test at Headingley, former England skipper Alastair Cook claimed that Carey went for a haircut in London but did not pay the barber for his services. The story was even carried by the English tabloid The Sun resulting in a strong response from the Australian cricket team. Teammate Steve Smith was left fuming by the reports and he went on record to slam the publication for their reporting on the issue.
MANCHESTER: England captain Ben Stokes said he hoped the feelgood factor surrounding his side would endure regardless of the outcome of this season’s Ashes, even though he was “devastated” by the decision not to hold any Tests in the north of the country when Australia next tour in 2027.
The United States has won the last two Women's World Cups and is the betting favorite to win an unprecedented third in a row this year. But the gap between the U.S. women and the competition has narrowed, and the odds reflect a more competitive field than in the most recent World Cups.

Ben Stokes said Tuesday that forecast bad weather in Manchester could make England even more aggressive as they bid to keep their Ashes hopes alive with victory in the fourth Test at Old Trafford.
