Sri Lanka cricket team all-rounder Kamindu Mendis became the first cricketer ever in the history of Test cricket to score two centuries in the same match while batting at No. 7 or below. Mendis achieved the feat on Day 3 of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Sylhet. Mendis scored 102 in the first innings and he followed it up with an impressive 164 in the second innings. Dhananjaya de Silva also scored centuries in both innings of the match and the pair also become the third in the history of the game to achieve the feat after Greg Chappel-Ian Chappel (Australia) and Misbah-ul-Haq-Azhar Ali (Pakistan).
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has restored the central contract of Haris Rauf after the fast bowler "admitted his mistake" in writing. The PCB had terminated the central contract of Rauf after Pakistan's tour to New Zealand just before the start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in early February. The decision was made on disciplinary grounds after Rauf refused to make himself available for the Test tour of Australia in winter citing a heavy workload and his Big Bash contract.
