Virat Kohli Joins Ashish Nehra In Unwanted T20 World Cup List After Duck Against Australia

It has been a dismal run for Virat Kohli in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 and it got worse for the Indian cricket team star batter as he was dismissed for a duck during the Super 8 match against Australia on Monday. Kohli miscued a shot off Josh Hazlewood and Tim David completed an easy catch to end his stay at the crease. This was the second duck for Virat in this year's competition after he was dismissed for a golden duck during the group stage match against United States. The star batter joined former pacer Ashish Nehra as the second Indian batter ever to score two ducks in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. Nehra had two ducks to his name during the 2010 edition of the T20 World Cup.

6, 6, 4, 6, 0, 6: Rohit Sharma Dispatches Mitchell Starc, Wife Ritika Sajdeh Reacts. Watch

The India vs Australia T20 World Cup 2024 match will be remembered for a long time for Rohit Sharma's terrific hitting against the likes of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and others. The Indian cricket team skipper struck eight sixes and seven fours on way to score a 41-ball 92. Though Rohit Sharma went after all the bowlers, he was particularly brutal towards one - Starc. When the left-arm pacer was inducted into the XI, the general thought was that it was to counter the India captain's weakness against the left-arm pacer.

Indian cricket team all-rounder Axar Patel left both fans and experts stunned after taking a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss Australia captain Mitchell Marsh during their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 clash on Monday. Marsh was looking in brilliant form and he slammed a delivery from Kuldeep Yadav firmly towards deep square leg. "They Changed Their Plan, So I Realised...": How Rohit Sharma Outsmarted Australia In Super 8s

Winning was not a 'breeze' for India in their last T20 World Cup Super Eight match against Australia as skipper Rohit Sharma said he had to tweak his batting to take the wind out of the 2021 champions' sails. Rohit played some delectable strokes on the off side as the 'Player of the Match' made a match-winning 92 off just 41 deliveries just when his opening partner Virat Kohli departed for a duck. Courtesy Rohit's seven boundaries and eight sixes, India scored 205/5 and then restricted Mitchell Marsh's side to 181/7 for a 24-run victory and moved into the semifinal of the showpiece event.

Virat Kohli's scores in the T20 World Cup 2024 so far read - 1, 4, 0, 24, 37, 0. It's not quite what the Indian cricket team fans might have expected from the star batter. After failing to reach a double-digit score in the New York leg of the T20 World Cup 2024, Kohli showed signs of progress in the West Indies. However, Kohli is yet to strike a half-century.
