Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley To Step Down After Next Summer

Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley has announced that he will step down after the upcoming season, following nearly 13 years working in Australian cricket, including five years as CA CEO. "This was a difficult decision. However, following what promises to be a blockbuster summer and with our five-year strategic plan well progressed, this is the right time to pursue another challenge while giving the Board plenty of time to find its next CEO to build on the strong foundations now in place. This is not the time for goodbyes, as I remain completely focused on the season ahead and supporting the Board on succession and a smooth transition," said Hockley, as quoted by a Cricket Australia media release.

Dinesh Karthik's Stunning U-Turn, To Play For This T20 Franchise Outside India

Former wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik was on Tuesday signed by Paarl Royals for the third season of the SA20, making him the first Indian cricketer to participate in the South African league, starting on January 9. Karthik, 39, retired from all forms of cricket in June this year and since then he has been roped in as a mentor-cum-batting coach by IPL side Royal Challengers Bengaluru. "I have so many fond memories of playing in and visiting South Africa, and when this opportunity came about, I couldn't say no because of how special it would be to come back to playing competitive cricket and win this incredible competition with the Royals," said Karthik, who has played 180 matches for India across all three formats.
