'We'll take a strong stance on any forced displacement': EU's Borrell on Nagorno-Karabakh
On the Azerbaijani military offensive to retake the disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh – populated by ethnic Armenians but internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan – Borrell says he has "strongly warned about any kind of forced displacement of persons or population, about any kind of [ethnic] cleansing. Certainly, if this happens, the European Union will have to take a strong stance. We have condemned the military action of Azerbaijan and we will condemn anything that could look like forced displacement of persons and any kind of activities against them based on ethnic reasons."

Elavenil Valarivan Strikes Gold In Rio Shooting World Cup
Olympian Elavenil Valarivan won the women's 10m air rifle event to clinch her second gold at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Rifle/Pistol competition in Rio de Janeiro. Elavenil was perfection personified in the strong eight-woman final field, never scoring below 10.1 throughout the 24 shots. She finished with a score of 252.2 to outgun France's 20-year-old sensation Oceanne Muller, who won silver with 251.9. China's Zhang Jiale bagged the bronze. Elavenil had qualified for the final at eighth and final spot with a score of 630.5.
World Wrestling Championships: Pruthviraj Loses In Quarter-finals, Abhimanyu In Bronze Play-off
Abhimanyu entered the bronze-medal playoff but other Indian free-style wrestlers had a disappointing day at the World Championships in Belgrade on Sunday. Abhimanyu entered the 70kg medal round through the repechage route. Abhimanyu, who had lost in the quarterfinal on Saturday, got a lifeline when the American grappler Zain Allen Retherford, who had defeated him in the last-eight, made the final. The repechage comes into effect for wrestlers who lose in the pre-quarterfinals or later. It allows the wrestlers a chance to revive themselves in the competition if the opponent they have lost to reaches the final.
