RABAT: The decades-long rivalry between North African neighbours Morocco and Algeria has spilled onto the football pitch, leaving the Moroccan team out of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
It was just last month that Morocco were the deserved toast of the World Cup after reaching the semifinals and pushing then reigning champions France all the way before bowing out.

RABAT: Morocco on Thursday decided to take part in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) despite earlier insisting they were canceling their participation due to the closure of Algerian airspace to Moroccan planes, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “The Moroccan national team will travel to Algeria tomorrow to participate in the CHAN,” the ministry told AFP.
