Gujarat Titans will start as favourites against spin-heavy former champions Rajasthan Royals when the two teams face-off in the first IPL Qualifier, here on Tuesday. Captaining a team in the IPL for the first time ever, a fit-again Hardik Pandya has been a revelation this season as he led from the front with both bat and ball to ensure a top finish for his team in the league stage. Apart from firing at number 4, Pandya has used his resources well, be it the death bowling of wily Rashid Khan or making his batting exploits count to go alongside the fiery duo of David Miller and Rahul Tewatia. Every little thing has fallen in place.
New Zealand and Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson and his wife Sarah Raheem became parents for the second time, as they got blessed with a baby boy. The Blackcaps batter took to his Instagram on Sunday and shared the good news with everyone. He posted a picture of his wife, holding their daughter, Maggie along with the newborn and captioned it," Welcome to the whanau little man!"
During Virat Kohli's match-winning 73 against Gujarat Titans, the Royal Challengers Bangalore star was involved in a riveting contest with Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan. While teams have targeted the former India captain with spin, on Thursday, he was in imperious form against the star leggie. Kohli first hit him for a boundary in the fourth over and then brought up his half-century with a six off Rashid in the 10th over. Kohli again hit him for a six off the second delivery of the 17th over. However, the Gujarat Titans star finally got the better off him two balls later.
Rashid Khan and Virat Kohli are known to be good friends off the field, with the duo acknowledging each other plenty of times on social media. Ahead of Gujarat Titans' (GT) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday, the Afghan spinner took to Instagram to share a hilarious interaction with Kohli, where the former RCB skipper could be seen imitating Rashid's famous 'snake' shot during a practice session. The 23-year-old also captioned the video as, "Even Virat Kohli bhai knows about my (snake emoji) ya (gun emoji) shot".
