Pandya, a fast bowler, returned figures of 3-17 including the prized scalp of Jos Buttler who made 39 at the world's biggest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad.
Hardik Pandya and his Gujarat Titans team produced a bowling masterclass in the IPL 2022 final to restrict Rajasthan Royals to a below par total of 130/9 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson decided to bat after winning the toss but the decision didn't work in their favour as Gujarat, led from the front by Hardik's fine spell of 3/17, tightened the screws on the Royals and never allowed them to get away.
Hardik Pandya led from the front in the IPL 2022 final against Rajasthan Royals, producing a stunning spell of bowling to put Gujarat Titans in the driver's seat. Having lost the toss, Gujarat Titans came under some early pressure with young Yashasvi Jaiswal chancing his arm. Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson then steadied RR before Hardik Pandya removed his counterpart. Buttler seemed to be headed for another big score but was stopped short in his tracks by Hardik. The Indian all-rounder then got another big fish in the form of Shimron Hetmyer to end with figures of three for 17 off his four overs.
The day of the IPL 2022 final began with a glittering closing ceremony that had special performances from Ranveer Singh and AR Rahman in front of a packed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But the main course for the day definitely was the cricketing action, which pitted newcomers and home team Gujarat Titans again Rajasthan Royals.
